Responding to\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.planhub.ca\/reviews-providers-mobile\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Telus<\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019s recent move, where they sold nearly half of their towers for 1.26 billion dollars to the Caisse de d\u00e9p\u00f4t, P\u00e9ladeau dismissed the option during the earnings call. He described it as a <\/span><b><i>\u201cquick fix\u201d<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and a financially risky bet in the long run.<\/span><\/p><p>Unlike the strong trend seen in the US and Europe, Quebecor plans to fully finance its infrastructure on its own. <i><b>\u201cOur financial health allows us to do so,\u201d<\/b><\/i> the CEO emphasized, underlining the group\u2019s independent strength.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1f6d999 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"1f6d999\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-9d481fa elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"9d481fa\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Mixed results despite mobile growth.\n<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b7ce89d e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"b7ce89d\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3c81d97 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"3c81d97\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The latest quarter partly confirmed this resilience. On the mobile side, <\/span><b>Quebecor<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> gained a solid 72,000 new subscribers. However, this positive development was overshadowed by a loss of 3,200 internet customers in a fiercely competitive cable market, especially in Quebec where Bell is aggressively fighting on prices. Analysts described the results as \u201cmixed.\u201d<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Another concern is the media division <\/span><b>TVA<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which continues to struggle. Fortunately for Quebecor, telecom now accounts for more than 85 percent of its revenue. Overall, Quebecor performed well. Net profit rose by 4.9 percent to 217.7 million dollars even though revenues slightly declined by 0.5 percent to 1.4 billion dollars. Still, the stock market was not convinced.
