The LG Velvet 5G is the direct successor of the LG G8 ThinQ<\/a>. It retains several high-end features and has a very distinctive look. The Aurora Grey, Illusion Sunset, Aurora Green (with Telus and Koodo) and Red (with Bell and Virgin) finishes are superb. It will be a shame to cover your device with a case given how beautiful the phone is! The Velvet also sets itself apart with its rounded “Arc 3D” design and the vertical alignment of its 3 cameras.<\/p>\n

LG Velvet specs<\/h2>\n

The LG Velvet specs are impressive for an Android phone from LG. The big 6.8\u201d P-OLED HDR-10 screen with HD+ (2460 x 1080) resolution looks amazing when looking at videos or pictures. The screen is quite narrow, with a 20.5:9 cinema ratio. This makes the Velvet easy to hold in one hand. Even if the screen is big, the device is rather thin (7.9mm) and light (180g). So that you don\u2019t type in your password every time you open your device, there is a fingerprint sensor on the screen. The 128GB base storage can also be upgraded up to 2TB with a micro SD card.<\/p>\n

The Velvet 5G is compatible with wireless charging (9W) and even has USB-C fast charging (16.2W, compatible with 25W). To use wireless charging, simply place the device on a QI-compatible charging surface. With a 4300 mAh battery, you can use the Velvet all day without worrying about bringing a charger with you. For those who like to take care of their devices, LG offers a 2-year warranty<\/a> and 2 years of guaranteed Android updates. The Velvet\u2019s IP68 water resistance will also protect it from accidental water splashes.<\/p>\n

LG Velvet 5G Specs – Cameras<\/h2>\n

The Velvet 5G specs work great alongside the device’s cameras. The smartphone contains 3 rear cameras aligned vertically to look like water droplets. Two of the cameras are flush with the casing of the device, while the larger 48 MP camera protrudes slightly. The main 48 MP camera uses pixel binning technology: pixels are combined to minimize noise into a 12 MP picture. There’s also an 8 MP camera with a wide-angle lens (120 degrees) that’s perfect to capture a larger field of view, and, a 5 MP camera to calculate the depth of field, highlight your subjects and blur backgrounds. Finally, the 8 MP front-facing camera is great for selfies.<\/p>\n

The Velvet also has image stabilization, variable FPS and 4K video recording. In terms of audio recording, there\u2019s a new \u201caudio zoom\u201d feature, as well as an ASMR mode to record quieter noises and whispers.<\/p>\n
