Google has confirmed the dates for I/O 2026. The two-day developer conference runs May 19-20 at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View and online, with updates expected across Gemini, Android, and Google’s broader AI roadmap.

Two days, in-person and online

Google I/O returns May 19 and 20, 2026. Google says the event will take place at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California, while also streaming online through the official I/O site.

AI is the headline theme

In its announcement, Google positions I/O 2026 as a showcase for its latest AI breakthroughs and product updates, explicitly calling out Gemini and Android. That strongly suggests another AI-heavy keynote season for developers and consumers alike.

Keynotes, chats, and product demos

The company says I/O 2026 will include keynotes from Google leaders, fireside chats, and product demos. While the full session schedule has not been published, Google indicates the event will kick off with a keynote on the morning of May 19.

A Gemini-built ‘save the date’ experience

Ahead of the conference, Google is also promoting an interactive ‘save the date’ experience on the I/O website, framed as a playground of puzzles and mini-games built with Gemini.
