Rogers is betting on full coverage. The Canadian provider has just announced that its satellite connection will be offered free of charge for a limited time with select mobile plans.
Coverage even without a terrestrial network
Launched this summer, the Rogers Satellite technology allows users to stay connected in areas without mobile coverage through a direct link to low-Earth orbit satellites.
In practice, this means it will be possible to send text messages and use apps like WhatsApp or Google Maps, even in the wilderness or remote parts of the country.
A limited-time offer on popular plans
The provider now includes this connectivity with two of its premium plans:
- Popular Plan: includes 12 months of free satellite service, along with a generous data allowance and unlimited calling across Canada and the United States.
- Ultimate Plan: offers 24 months of free satellite service for those seeking maximum coverage and an even larger data volume.
Normally, the satellite service costs $15 per month, but Rogers is offering it at no extra charge for new customers or those renewing an eligible plan.
A new step toward total connectivity
With this initiative, Rogers is reaffirming its goal of strengthening mobile coverage across Canada, especially in rural and mountainous regions where traditional networks often fall short.
The company points out that this service complements the 5G network rather than replacing it, ensuring users stay connected in all situations.
This limited-time offer marks a significant step toward Rogers’ vision of a fully connected Canada, reaching even the most remote areas.
