Just weeks ahead of the Winter Olympic Games, Rogers is launching an initiative designed to strike a nostalgic chord with hockey fans across Canada. The company has unveiled The Great Canadian Jersey, a project inviting Canadians to donate their old hockey jerseys to be transformed into a one-of-a-kind collective artwork.

The concept is simple, yet deeply symbolic. Donated jerseys will be taken apart, and their fabric pieces reassembled into new patchwork jerseys. These unique creations, designed by former OHL player turned fashion designer Cameron Lizotte, will be worn by elite Canadian athletes, representing the shared history of the nation’s game.

To kick off the campaign, two iconic captains and Team Rogers ambassadors took part in person. Connor McDavid of the Edmonton Oilers and Marie-Philip Poulin of the Montreal Victoire each donated a jersey from their personal collection on Monday, in their respective cities.

“Whether it’s a first minor hockey jersey, an amateur league sweater, or a former NHL jersey, we invite Canadians to share a piece of their history and become part of this collective story,” said Terrie Tweddle, Chief Brand and Communications Officer at Rogers.

How to take part in the collective project

The donation period is now open and will run until January 15, 2026. Canadians can drop off their jerseys at participating Rogers stores across the country. For those unable to visit in person, mail-in details are available on the dedicated website at Rogers.com/TheGreatCanadianJersey.

Each donor will automatically be entered into a draw to win an Ultimate VIP Hockey Road Trip, which includes travel to attend an away game for any Canadian NHL team during the 2025–26 regular season.

The final jerseys will be revealed later in January and will be featured in a national advertising campaign. The initiative builds on Rogers’ “This Is Our Game” campaign, which celebrates hockey as a unifying cultural force as the country prepares for the Olympic spotlight in February.
