It was just five months ago that Samsung proudly unveiled its new line of ultra-slim smartphones, the Galaxy S25 Edge. But today, according to several internal sources, the Korean company may already be preparing to pull it from the market. A surprising reversal that could reflect the challenges the brand is currently facing.
The final blow for ultra-thin design
According to sales figures, the Galaxy S25 Edge never managed to win over the public. Its limited battery life and high price seem to have discouraged buyers. A Samsung executive even admitted: “It would be unrealistic to expect this lineup to make a comeback anytime soon.”
Back to basics
In response to this partial failure, Samsung appears to be returning to its roots. Farewell to the Edge, as the company once again focuses on its proven trio: the Standard, Plus, and Ultra models. The S26 Edge, which was reportedly in development, has been completely scrapped.
The market seems to welcome this decision with pragmatism. “Consumers vote with their wallets, and clearly, ultra-thin designs no longer stand a chance against better battery life,” an industry expert observed.
It remains to be seen whether this failed experiment marks the end of ultra-thin smartphones for Samsung or merely a strategic pause. The ball is now in the consumers’ court.
