Choosing a durable smartphone isn’t always easy. Between performance, camera quality, and battery life, reliability remains the most decisive factor in the long run. And according to a new study by “60 Millions de Consommateurs”, one manufacturer clearly stands out: Xiaomi.
Chinese brands dominate the ranking
The survey, conducted among more than 1,200 users, shows that Xiaomi takes the top spot with a reliability score of 94.1%.
Right behind it are Oppo, Honor, and OnePlus, confirming the strength of Chinese brands in the global market.
Motorola and Apple follow closely, while Google comes in last with a score well below average. Pixel smartphones appear to be more prone to hardware issues, especially on their latest models.
Overall reliability slightly declining
The study highlights a general decline in smartphone reliability compared to previous years.
The reasons? Devices are becoming more complex, slimmer, and sometimes less durable. High-end models remain more resilient, but entry-level phones are more often affected by breakdowns.
Google still appeals despite everything
Paradoxically, Google ranks highest in overall user satisfaction despite its reliability issues. Its smartphones win people over with their smooth interface, strong software performance, and high-quality updates.
Apple, for its part, maintains an excellent reputation for the ease of use of its iPhones, though some users lament shorter battery life.
This study shows that reliability is no longer exclusive to long-established brands. Chinese manufacturers have managed to combine innovation, durability, and consumer trust.
If you’re looking for a smartphone that can last several years without major issues, Xiaomi stands out this year as the safest choice.
