Apple’s all-new iPhone 17 Air is poised to make waves, both for its ultra-slim design and its premium price. According to the latest report from TrendForce, the completely redesigned model will start at $1,099 for the 256 GB version, with a 1 TB option priced at $1,499.

Three storage options available

Apple is expected to offer three storage configurations for this model, which replaces the iPhone 16 Plus in the lineup:

  • 256 GB – $1,099
  • 512 GB – $1,299
  • 1 TB – $1,499

This pricing positions the iPhone 17 Air firmly in the premium segment, well above J.P. Morgan’s earlier estimates of a starting price between $899 and $949.

Significant technical upgrades

The entire iPhone 17 series is set to receive major technical improvements. The standard and Air models will feature the new A19 chip, while the Pro versions will adopt the A19 Pro. Another upgrade: the iPhone 17 Air, Pro, and Pro Max will move to 12 GB of RAM, compared with 8 GB for the standard model.

All models are also expected to receive ProMotion 120 Hz displays, a feature previously limited to the Pro versions.

Optimistic sales outlook

TrendForce anticipates a 3.5% increase in sales for the iPhone 17 series compared with the previous generation, with Pro models remaining the main drivers of this growth. Apple is expected to unveil the new iPhone lineup during its “Awe Dropping” event on September 9, with a potential release date set for Friday, September 19.
