As the back-to-school season approaches, Canada’s major providers have launched promotional programs aimed at students. These offers, which bundle mobile and internet plans, always require proof of student status. Here’s a comparative analysis of the available deals.

Details of Bell's offers

Positioned in the premium segment, Bell is focusing its promotions on the latest smartphones available. Notably, the provider offers the Google Pixel 9 at a symbolic monthly rate, with specific contract terms regarding device ownership.

Highlighted offers:

  • Google Pixel 9: $1/month (24-month commitment with mandatory device return)

  • iPhone 16: $5/month (in-store offer with trade-in of at least an iPhone 12 512GB)

  • Samsung Galaxy S25: $20/month after a $730 discount

Internet plans:

  • 1.5 Gbps Fiber: $75/month (24-month term)

  • 50 Mbps: $60/month (available in non-fiber areas)

Fido (Rogers) strategy

Fido, the low-cost subsidiary of the Rogers group, positions its messaging around affordability, offering financing options with no upfront payments. The focus is on eliminating additional fees to make the offers more appealing.

  • iPhone 16: $31.71/month (payment plan with the “Plus” plan)

    Both plans waive the $39 installation fee.

Western Canadian provider Telus stands out with its innovative “Bring-It-Back” program, paired with its new “Complete” plans. The offer is further boosted by perks like waived connection fees, making it even more attractive.
