After a year of collecting reviews from Canadians across the country, PlanHub is proud to reveal the winners of the 2026 PlanHub Awards for internet providers. These results are driven by real user experiences and measured across key criteria: overall satisfaction, network quality, billing transparency, digital experience, customer service, onboarding experience, and independent provider performance.
Whether you are already with a provider or thinking about switching, these rankings offer a clearer picture of which internet companies are actually delivering for their subscribers in Canada.
Oxio: The Overall Winner of 2026

With 140 reviews, an 89% recommendation rate, and an overall User’s Choice score of 82.93 out of 100, Oxio takes the top spot in the 2026 PlanHub Awards for internet providers.
Oxio also wins Best Onboarding Experience with a score of 83.82, which suggests the provider is doing more than simply attracting customers. It is making a strong first impression and delivering a smoother sign-up process than most of the market.
That combination matters. A provider can have solid infrastructure, but if the setup process is confusing, frustrating, or full of friction, users tend to remember. Oxio’s results suggest it is performing well across the full customer journey.

Fizz: Best Digital Experience and Best Fair Billing

Fizz stands out as one of the strongest consumer-facing providers in the entire ranking. With 193 reviews and an overall score of 80.27, it remains one of the top-performing brands in Canada’s internet market.
Fizz wins two major categories this year:
- Best Digital Experience with 83.22
- Best Fair Billing with 86.77
Its billing score of 86.77 is the highest single-category result in the whole dataset. In a market where surprise fees, unclear pricing, and frustrating invoices often shape user sentiment, that is a major win. Fizz’s performance suggests that customers value simplicity and transparency just as much as raw speed.

Netcrawler: Best Customer Service

Netcrawler earns the Best Customer Service Award with a score of 83.99, the highest customer service result in the table.
That result becomes even more impressive when paired with its broader performance. Netcrawler has 92 reviews, a 93% recommendation rate, and an overall User’s Choice score of 81.03, placing it just behind Oxio and Wakey in the national ranking.
This is the profile of a provider that is not only satisfying customers overall, but also leaving a strong impression when users need help, answers, or problem resolution.

Starlink: Best Network

Starlink takes the Best Network Award with a score of 83.04, the top network score in the dataset.
This result comes from a smaller pool of 21 reviews, so it should be read with a bit of caution compared with larger-sample providers. Still, it is notable. Starlink continues to stand out for users who prioritize connectivity performance, especially in places where traditional wired options may be weaker or less consistent.

Wakey is especially notable because it also ranks second overall with a User’s Choice score of 81.14, based on 85 reviews and an 88% recommendation rate. That gives it one of the strongest all-around performances in the ranking, not just among independents, but across the entire market.

What These Results Tell Us About Canada’s Internet Market
The 2026 results point to a clear pattern. Smaller, digital-first, and customer-focused providers are outperforming several legacy brands on overall satisfaction.
Oxio, Wakey, Netcrawler, and Fizz all score above 80, while larger household names such as Bell, Telus, and Rogers land much lower in the User’s Choice ranking. That does not necessarily mean the biggest brands have the weakest infrastructure. It does suggest that Canadians are increasingly rewarding providers that offer a cleaner customer experience, clearer billing, better support, and fewer headaches.
In other words, internet service is no longer judged only by technical performance. The experience around the connection now matters just as much.
