Galaxy A8 (2017): Full Specifications

The A8 is a slightly less powerful version of the Galaxy S8. Its display is still striking, but the A8 could use a stronger camera performance. It offers most of the same notable features as the S8, but suffers an overall inferior performance.

Pros

  • Selfie cameras: With two front-facing cameras and features like Live Focus, the Galaxy A8 is a great device for taking selfies.
  • Water resistant: The Galaxy A8 is built to protect against any and all water damage.

Cons

  • More front-facing cameras than rear cameras: This seems like an odd choice when designing a smartphone. Most users want stronger cameras for landscapes and scenery shots, not selfies.
  • Age: Years after its release, a number of other Android devices can do much more for a similar price. It's hard to justify the A8 over another specific model, especially when it'll cost you around $650 CAD.
