Galaxy S7 Edge: Full Specifications

Samsung positioned the Galaxy S7 Edge as a premium large-format phone, and its design was one of its defining traits. The 5.5-inch dual-edge Super AMOLED display uses a sharp 2560 x 1440 resolution, while the curved glass front and back give the handset a slim, polished look despite housing a sizeable 3600 mAh battery. It measures 150.9 x 72.6 x 7.7 mm and weighs 157 g, which kept it relatively light for its class. Inside, the phone pairs 4 GB of RAM with 32 GB of internal storage and supports microSD expansion, helping it balance everyday responsiveness with extra room for photos, apps, and media. Samsung also equipped it with a 12 MP rear camera with Dual Pixel autofocus and optical image stabilization, plus a 5 MP front camera, with 4K video recording available at up to 30 fps. Other notable features include fast wired and wireless charging, IP68 water and dust resistance, NFC, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi ac, GPS and GLONASS support, a fingerprint sensor, and a hybrid tray configuration that can accommodate a nano SIM and microSD, with some versions also offered in dual-SIM form.

Pros

  • Design: The Edge's greatest strength is its appearance. The screen extends onto the edges of the phone, allowing for amazing gaming and viewing experiences.
  • Size: The S7 Edge is a very good size. It's not too small that texting feels cramped, and it's not too large that it can't comfortably fit in your pocket. It fits perfectly in the palm of your hand.

Cons

  • Battery and storage: The S7 Edge's battery (2600 mAh) and storage (32GB, 64GB or 128GB) aren't up to par by today's standards.
  • Cameras: The S7 Edge only offers two cameras, both of which aren't particularly impressive.
