Huawei positioned the Ascend G7 as a bigger-format smartphone that keeps things simple while still covering the essentials well. Its 5.5-inch InCell IPS display uses a 1280 x 720 resolution, giving it a roomy canvas for messaging, browsing and video without pushing the hardware too hard. The body is notably slim at 7.6 mm and, at 165 g, it has the feel of a substantial handset without becoming overly bulky. Inside, the phone pairs a quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A53 processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, plus microSD expansion for extra space. The camera setup includes a 13MP rear camera with autofocus, BSI sensor, f/2.0 lens and flash, along with a 5MP front camera for selfies and video calls. Huawei shipped it with Android 4.4 and Emotion UI 3.0, and the connectivity package includes 4G LTE on supported variants, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, A-GPS and GLONASS, as well as Micro USB 2.0 and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. A 3000 mAh battery rounds out a device that balances screen size, battery capacity and everyday practicality.
