Pixel 4a 5G: Full Specifications

Google positioned the Pixel 4a 5G as a larger and more capable take on the 4a, pairing a clean Android experience with broader network support and a more versatile camera setup. Its 6.2-inch OLED display delivers a sharp 1080 x 2340 resolution with HDR support, while the soft-touch polycarbonate body keeps the phone relatively light at 168 g for most versions. Inside, the Snapdragon 765G and 6 GB of RAM give it solid everyday performance, and the 128 GB of storage suits people who prefer to keep apps, photos, and downloads on the device. The camera system adds a 16 MP ultrawide alongside Google’s 12.2 MP main camera with optical and electronic stabilisation, which gives the phone more flexibility for landscapes, group shots, and video up to 4K at 60 fps. A typical 3885 mAh battery, 18 W USB-C fast charging, stereo speakers, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and a rear fingerprint sensor round out a practical feature set. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, nano-SIM and eSIM support, with 5G compatibility that varies by model, including a US-specific mmWave version.

Pros

  • 5G: This model's main attraction is its capability to connect to 5G towers and experience the next generation of mobile technology.
  • Camera: Pixel phones have a reputation for offering some of the best smartphone cameras on the market, and the 4a 5G is no exception.
  • Fingerprint scanner: While iPhones no longer offer fingerprint scanning technology, Pixels continue to do so.

Cons

  • Lack of premium features: no wireless charging and IP water resistance rating may upset some users.
  • Refresh rate: The 4a 5G's refresh rate is only 60Hz, while other phones offer 120Hz.
  • Price: The 4a 5G is significantly more expensive than the 4a, without many notable additions aside from 5G.
