Sonim XP Pro 5G: Full Specifications

Rather than chasing a slim consumer design, the Sonim XP Pro 5G focuses on durability and dependable everyday operation in harsher settings. Its 6.58-inch 2408 x 1080 display is designed to stay responsive with gloves, and the front is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2. Under the hood, it runs Android 14 on a Qualcomm SM7550 octa-core platform with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, plus microSD expansion up to 2TB for larger media or work files. The camera setup includes a 50MP main camera, 13MP ultra-wide, 2MP macro and a 16MP front camera, giving it more flexibility than many purpose-built rugged phones. Sonim also leans into practical hardware, including a large programmable Push-to-Talk key, a dedicated emergency key, dual speakers rated above 100dB and noise and echo cancellation for clearer communication in loud environments. A 5000mAh battery and wireless charging add convenience, while 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, nano SIM plus eSIM support and GPS round out the connectivity. At roughly 171 x 80 x 12 mm and 275 g, it is substantial, but that size comes with MIL-STD-810H, IP68 and IPX9K rugged protection.

Pros

  • Built to handle tough environments water, dust, and drops are no problem.
  • Smooth performance for everyday tasks and demanding apps.
  • Programmable physical buttons make it great for field or professional use.

Cons

  • Battery life may fall short under heavy use.
  • Camera quality is basic, especially in low light.
  • Button placement isn’t the most ergonomic.
