Apple’s iPhone 12 mini stands out for packing high end hardware into a notably compact body. Its 5.4 inch Super Retina XDR OLED display delivers a sharp 2340 x 1080 resolution, HDR support, True Tone, and strong contrast, while the flat edge aluminum frame, glass back, and Ceramic Shield front give it a more modern feel than earlier small iPhones. Powered by the A14 Bionic chip and launched with iOS 14, it offers the same core performance as the larger iPhone 12, with storage options of 64GB, 128GB, or 256GB. The dual rear camera system combines a 12 MP wide camera with optical image stabilization and a 12 MP ultra wide camera with a 120 degree field of view, and it supports Night mode, Deep Fusion, Smart HDR 3, and Dolby Vision HDR video recording up to 4K at 30 fps. A 12 MP TrueDepth front camera adds Face ID and strong selfie and video calling performance. The phone supports 5G, Wi Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, Ultra Wideband, NFC, and dual SIM through nano SIM and eSIM. At 131.5 x 64.2 x 7.4 mm and 135 g, it remains one of the lightest premium iPhones of its generation, with MagSafe charging up to 15W and Qi wireless charging up to 7.5W.

Cons

  • Shorter battery life: The iPhone 12 Mini battery is slightly smaller than the iPhone 12 battery.
