Signed up for them because I their website advertises Rogers as their provider, and Rogers is the only provider with service in the remote location I travelled to. Upon activating the esim, I realized that the provider was actually Telus, and did not work where I was. I contacted PhoneBox to request a transfer to Rogers or a refund, but was denied on both accounts. This company is horrible, and I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for a service provider.

I tried to prepay for service from this company paid them in full upfront. That same day when I was having issues with the service I contacted their customer support team was told flat out that I didn't have a account with them but I have a credit card receipt for the purchase. Clearly this company is a scam happily take your money then claim that they have no record of payment. Be very careful with this company I personally DO NOT TRUST THEM AT ALL. Scam artists nothing more nothing less.

I've used Phonebox twice for temporary stays in Canada and both times it has worked well with no issues. Both times I ordered a SIM card from a large online retailer with an amount of data already included.I can confirm they now issue Telus SIM cards (previously in 2023 I was issued a Rogers SIM.) Coverage in my area is good (and similar to Bell) but not quite as good as Rogers. I have an iPhone X so says "Telus LTE." The Telus-based plans are different than the previous Rogers-based ones (e.g. they no longer offer the 15 day option).I found the prices for their pre-paid plans more favourable than post-paid monthly plans, especially when purchasing 60, 90 or 180 days at once.Activation is pretty prompt. You can choose what day you want the plan to start. I have no experience contacting their customer service or porting a number to or from them.Overall I'm happy and Phonebox prepaid is the cheapest plan for my needs (~5 GB per month). (My current plan is $80 for 60 GB to be used over 90 days, plus HST but no other fees.)
