Built as a compact entry-level Android phone, the LG K31 focuses on everyday essentials in a smaller format that is easy to handle. Its 5.7-inch HD+ FullVision display uses a tall 19:9 shape that leaves enough room for messaging, streaming and web browsing without making the device feel oversized. LG paired it with a MediaTek Helio P22 octa-core processor, 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage, with microSD expansion up to 32 GB for users who need more space for photos and media. The rear camera system combines a 13 MP main camera with a 5 MP ultra wide camera, while the 5 MP front camera supports portrait selfies, and video recording goes up to 1080p at 30 fps. A 3,000 mAh battery, rear fingerprint sensor and dedicated Google Assistant button round out the core experience. The phone also supports 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS and Micro USB charging. At about 147.8 x 71.1 x 8.6 mm and 146 g, it stays light and pocket-friendly, making it a straightforward LTE handset for calls, apps and casual daily use.

Pros

  • Battery: The device's battery will last an entire day on mild usage, which is an impressive feat for a device at this kind of price
  • Price: Of course, the affordability of the K31 has to be its biggest pro. A brand new K31 should cost you around $140 CAD.

Cons

  • WiFi Connection: Unfortunately, there have been several cases in which users' K31's can only connect to 2.4GHz WiFi networks.
  • OS: For more of a "budget" phone, te K31 surprisingly runs on Android 10.0, which may be too powerful for the device.
