Switched from Telus to Teksavvy February 2020 and my bill was $55 less than Telus at the time. First year I've had two increases so now I am paying the same as with Telus. Internet is so slow it makes it impossible to use most evenings. Teksavvy support was sympathetic but useless. I will have go back to Telus.

I have Internet only - Two increase in one year. Service is so bad most evening won't connect up at all. Customer service doesn't see anything wrong on their end .. ***.. there is a definite problem with their end. Have to change .... pain!

I've been with Teksavvy for around 8 years now and only in the last year have there been some issues. With those issues comes support. Most of the time, 8/10 times, I would say the call support is awesome. Great people to talk to, great understanding and wanting to help. Today though (March 6th, 2021) I didn't just get my issue solved, but I got it solved with amazing expertise. Without knowing the last name, Jason helped my wife and I with some weird things going on and just stayed on the line till things were resolved. Not only did he stay on the line, he actually did some troubleshooting that others did not try or talk about. It was such an amazing experience, that I called right back to get the name. Thank you Jason. Thank you very much. Just note, he never asked what kind of house we lived in, he seemed to go right to the point and got things sorted. Jason for the win. Cheers!

I ordered TekSavvy in late December 2020 after some research on ISPs and a recommendation from a friend. Unfortunately by the beginning of January 2021, when the connection was supposed to be activated, it was not. The following two weeks of trouble shooting, and $400 repair bill, for what was ultimately a problem TekSavvy could have fixed at the beginning of January 2021 was unsatisfactory.
I gave the bill category 5 stars because it was transparent and clear what I was paying for.
I gave the customer service 2 stars instead of one because they were easy to contact, friendly, and professional. Except, of course, they could have fixed my problem weeks earlier and saved me a $400 bill to fix a problem that never existed.
Everything else is 1 star because of the previously mention problems activating my internet service.

I would not recommend TekSavvy.

For a company that is trying to position itself as the underdog to the big bad telecom companies, their actual financial practices are just as unethical. I was moving to another province and called to say I was cancelling service in Ontario and starting a new one in Halifax with the same modem. They said I should call back closer to the date because a month and a half was too early for cancelling(?) but not too early to book a new service(?). So I did call back two weeks out to cancel. Recently I realize, they kept charging me for 6 months at the old place, and when I called them on it, they said they didn't have record of the second call, so they wouldn't refund me. Imagine an ISP, making hand-over-fist in a pandemic, stealing $500 from someone who lost their job in a pandemic and saying it was because they "didn't have record of the call". And then pretending they're the "good guys". Btw, they know there was 0 bandwidth used, and they know they had the same modem (which they keep very close track of for service providing) activated on two accounts. And they have record of my ORIGINAL call to cancel. But they're keeping the money paid for a service they didn't provide. What underdogs... Feels kinda like... being with any other terrible ISP/cell provider. At least with the big companies the tech support is better because they're not begging some other company to fix the problem.

Rates went up by about $10/month within the last year, I pay $75/month for cable 40mbps. You have to pay extra for installation, modem rental etc., other providers don't charge for that anymore it seems...

Horrible internet connection. For the price we pay, I expect fast speeds, but the speeds are so slow, that you can hardlly stream without consistant buffers. I did a speed test and it literally showed my download speed at 2mpbs. 2!!! Even my upload speed was faster! Never again! I've heard other horror stories from this provider from friends. but I still went with them because at the time, their plan and pricing was attractive. But, that's how they get you.

I'm already looking for a new provider and I'm going to make a switch real soon

DO NOT go with TekSavvy. We lost internet for 23 days in January during a pandemic and provice wide lockdown. Their technical support was not helpful at all. The cogeco technicians they sent were clueless as they sent 3 different ones and even had a maintenance ticket that would take 5-10 business days. Our internet service did not come back until after 13 business days. This is unacceptable especially during a situation like this where everyone has to work from home. Speaking with the customer service department, Managers Frederick and Daniel were the worst as they were very condescending and even tried to tell me how to plug a USB in my laptop. They showed no sympathy and were overall useless as they did not give me any helpful information. This company is pretty pathetic and I don't know how you can get away with this customer service in this day and age.

Cheaper service fees but in return you suffer with customer service. You will be waiting a long time....pay the extra $10 month and get a solid provider. Yes the customers time is also valuable but they don't seem to understand that.

You would think with more people working from home, they would be more prepared, but it's the total opposite. Wait times continue to increase.

Have been with this provider for years. Find the service unstable, drops off easily. Customer service is terribly hard to reach. We upgraded to a higher speed, but still have crappy internet.

Absolutely terrible connectivity, no customer service, and change price randomly. Have the cable 150 and the internet keeps on getting disconnected (been going on for months) we've called them multiple times but no help. Would not recommend at all.

I've attempted to establish a basic internet connection after moving to a new address. It took two weeks to have a technician come in, during which time I was left with no internet and as an online student it's created a difficult hardship. When I pleaded for assistance, they gave me no option aside from using Public WiFi during a pandemic which is both dangerous and embarrassing.

To make matters worse, when the technician finally arrived to set up the internet connection, there was an issue with the cord running to the technical room of the apartment building (which I understood even though it was frustrating.) Technician assured me they'd let me know when somebody could come by in advance. I step out for a moment to get some groceries and my medication and all of a sudden I find that they tried knocking on my door without any advanced notice and marked me as a "no-show." Meaning I'd have to setup a new appointment 9 days later. (We're approaching 3+ weeks of no internet at this point.)

I've made a grand total of 13 phone calls throughout this time. I've had good agents who I understood couldn't do anything that I felt bad for because I knew they wanted to help and I've had some really bad agents. I was promised from a supervisor a full month refund as a goodwill gesture and when I called about it the following retention agent fought against it and was not willing to understand the difficult situation I was in. Understandably I was upset, however the last agent I spoke to could not have cared less about how dire of a situation I was in with my online classes and having to go out during COVID to submit crucial assignments.

It's hard picking internet providers enough as it is already, but I would strongly advise against going with Teksavvy. At least if the competitors don't look much better you'll know they have faster service so you won't have to call ages before you actually need them. You would consider having been a long-term client with them over several years that they would give more options to help their clients, but unfortunately they don't give, they only take.

I had an issue with my power that meant my wifi got shut down. Fine not their fault. I scheduled to get the jack moved for $150 so it could reach a working outlet but teksavvy scheduled it as a move request as in I was moving. When I got an email a week later confirming it cancelled the request and clarified that I’m not moving and still wanted service. Teksavvy confirmed this but on the date I had originally scheduled to move the Jack they cancelled my service. In the middle of the pandemic and could not reconnect it because they weren’t allowed to enter the apt. Despite the fact that they hadn’t entered it to disconnect it. They finally reconnected it and while I was led on about some sort of compensation for their mistake I never received any calls about despite being told by multiple agents they would look into things and call me back. During the time my wifi was disconnected they billed me. Finally I was able to get a new service installed by a different company and called them to cancel, which they confirmed. Two months later they were still charging me and saying my payments were past due and they had no record of my cancellation. Finally after “looking into it” I received a final bill for less than was originally “past due” but no contact from teksavvy about their mistakes. It’s clear that allot of these problems came from lack of communication between workers/departments and it led to extremely poor and unfair service. I am happy to be done with this company after the terrible service I received.

The customer support at TekSavvy is knowledgeable and thorough. Internet outages are uncommon. Speeds are consistent and aligned with their advertised speeds. Monthly bills are laid out clearly and explained concisely, allowing the customer to see exactly how their monthly bill is calculated.
